Hey You!

Yeah, you!
My crazy friend Andrew started a business.
And it's pretty cool.
You should check it out.
It's a new, fun, way to hang pictures.
I've already bought two.
I know this isn't the greatest
picture of my super fancy college apartment,
but here's one of mine:

They come in all sorts of colors

and two different lengths.
He orders the parts from China and makes
them himself in his apartment.
Pretty cool, right?
You can find them Here

Words

Um...

Dear Logan,

This is not what I had in mind today.

Please do what you can to make this go away, and FAST.

Thanks.

What's on my mind

I need somewhere to live next year!
Why does everyone I know have
to get married or graduate?!
HELP!

maybe I'll just live in a box...nbd

Before light

I have a love-hate relationship with my Latin American literature class.
To be honest, I lean very closely towards hate most days.
I have a rough time analyzing poetry in English and well,
give me poetry in Spanish and I'm basically clueless.
But, every once and awhile we'll read something that
really stands out to me. And honestly, it sounds
much more poetic in Spanish, but I love this phrase
from José Martí's poem, Versos Sencillos (Simple Verses):

(via)

"y todo, como el diamante,
antes que luz es carbón. "

 or

"and all, like the diamond,
before it is light is coal."

I like to think that even though a lot of us feel like we're
"still figuring it all out"
and might sometimes have those creeping thoughts of self-doubt...
these difficulties are just part of a refining process and
little by little we'll start to shine.

On planning

I believe we write our own stories. And each time we think we know the end - we don’t. Perhaps luck exists somewhere between the world of planning, the world of chance, and in peace that comes from knowing that you just can’t know it all. You know, life’s funny that way. Once you let go of the wheel, you might end up right where you belong.

I used to be an almost obsessive compulsive planner.
I always wrote down everything on my calendar
and had a specific "Plan" for myself.
But, after a few things in life went completely opposite to what I had planned,
I learned the important lesson of letting it go
It's not necessary to plan out every detail.
In fact, it's impossible.

Sometimes you just have to wing it.
And well, " you might end up right where you belong."

Something to think about...

"Everybody is a genius.
But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree,
it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid."

-Albert Einstein

SpRiNg BrEaK!

I spent a couple of lovely days in
St.George last weekend
and to be honest,
I almost didn't come home.

A couple of my friends,
my mom, and I went down
and stayed a few days in a friend's condo.
We sat out by the pool,
(and even got sunburned a little)
read, watched Gilmore Girls, went to a movie,
and ate frozen yogurt.

  Monday we drove to Vegas
and spent the day shopping
(the best kind of day in my opinion).
Then my Mom and I went and saw
The Lion King!
And it was fabulous.
Their costumes are amazing.
You should go see it.
Unfortunately they don't let you
take pictures so I only have this one.

This week is my only
break from school until
July because of my
Summer Business Study Abroad program,
(that starts the Monday after Spring semester ends)
so I'm enjoying doing absolutely nothing
till Monday.
