No time!

Would like to post all kinds of things I've been thinking these days! However, I have a 10 page paper due IN SPANISH Friday, and as of now I only have one paragraph done. Yikes. I've yet to learn the art of B.S.-ing (ha I have no idea how  to write that) in another language. I'm pretty sure I still sound like a 5 year old. Oh well! Hopefully this weekend I'll have some time!

Questions.

When I was younger, I was always asking my Dad, why? As I'm sure all kids do, I wanted to know the answer to everything. Why I had to do my chores, why I had to babysit when all my friends were out having fun, why I couldn't go with my parents on vacation, why I had to learn math, etc. etc. When my Dad got tired of answering my endless queries, he would always respond, "to make you ask questions." I hated this answer! "Just tell me!!" I would say. Then he would reply, “Don’t ask. Just do it.”

For some reason, I still get hung up on this question and tonight, as all sorts of “whys?” were bumping around in my head, I thought of my Dad answering, "to make you ask questions." Sometimes we don't understand why things are the way they are. But that's part of life. That's part of the living. I guess the trick is to not get caught up in the asking. "Don't ask. Just do it." I keep coming back to part of the quote I posted a few weeks ago:

“…try to love the questions themselves, like locked rooms and books written in a foreign language. Do not now look for answers. They cannot now be given to you because you could not live them. It is a question of experiencing everything. At present you need to live the question…”

Living the question is hard for me. I’ve never been very patient. But I’m working on it. There’s a quote by Mary Engelbreit that has really stuck out to me, “If you don’t like something, change it. If you can’t change it, change the way you think about it.” I don’t like not knowing. But I can’t change it. So for now I’ll work on accepting it.

Just for Fun

My Mom e-mailed this to me today and I thought it was pretty funny! :) (Some of the pictures moved in the e-mail...but now they don't. I couldn't figure out how to fix it, so sorry!)

Happy IVGLDSW Day!

Today is International Very Good Looking, Damn Smart Woman's Day so please send this message to someone you think fits this description. Please do not send it back to me as I have already received it from a Very Good Looking, Damn Smart Woman! And remember this motto to live by: Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, wine in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming 'WOO HOO what a ride!'

Have a wonderful day!

Dear Robert Pattinson

You got a pretty serious face there.  To be honest, sometimes I think you're a goofy looking kid with weird hair...and then other times, I think you're actually quite good looking. For example:

Remember Me might just be one of th most depressing
movies I've seen in awhile. But...I actually really liked it.
(Not the fact that it was depressing,
just thought it was a good movie)
It's much easier to take you seriously
when you're not a glittery vampire. Just sayin.

Free

Whew, it's been a long week. One of those weeks that I've been running around like a crazy person unable to concentrate on one thing for an extended amount of time. But it's FRIDAY, and more importantly the beginning of SPRING BREAK. Hallelujah for some time off! I wish I could say I was spending it on the beach in Cali, or jetting off on some cruise to the Caribbean...but I'm not. I'm going home for a few days, and then working the rest of the time. But it's all good because there are some BIG plans in the works and today I feel like this:

Happy weekend!

P.S. I have a pen pal! More to come on this later. :)

Weekend

I guess I spoke too soon about the nice weather! Not even a few hours after I wrote about how great the sun was, it was dumping snow! That's Spring in Utah for you. I decided to take advantage of the new snow though, and went snowboarding with a friend of mine I haven't seen for a long time. It was fun to catch up and it was nice and sunny all day!

I also got my hair done by one of my best friends, went shopping with my mom, got to meet all my girls for some ice cream, saw another friend I haven't seen for 2 years, and built a fort with my little brother and sister :). It was such a good weekend, just what I needed to get through this week of midterms!

Adios Real Life!

Ever want to just pack up and do this the rest of your life?

Or what about this?

The weather has been so nice the past few days! Spring makes me want to forget all my responsibilities and just go outside and enjoy the sun!

Patience ♥

"Have patience with everything that remains unsolved in your heart. Try to love the questions themselves, like locked rooms and like books written in a foreign language. Do not now look for the answers. They cannot now be given to you because you could not live them. It is a question of experiencing everything. At present you need to live the question. Perhaps you will gradually, without even noticing it, find yourself experiencing the answer, some distant day."
-Rainer Maria Rilke
